GIS/GPS

Ecosphere has full Geographical Information Systems (GIS)/Global Positioning System (GPS) services and digital mapping capabilities available to support various projects. Ecosphere specializes in designing and implementing GIS databases to leverage the resources of monitoring programs and special studies. In order to work efficiently, Ecosphere conducts data research (data mining) of federal, state and local agency resources to utilize available mapping and GIS data sets. Ecosphere can provide GIS data sets in any industry standard format requested: ArcInfo, ArcView, ArcGIS, AutoCAD Map, MapInfo, etc.

Phase I ESAs

Ecosphere routinely conducts Phase I ESAs for property transactions to provide clients with information on the potential presence of hazardous substances and/or petroleum hydrocarbons relative to historic use of the site. Phase I assessments are conducted in accordance with the American Society of Testing Materials (ASTM) Standard Practice (E1527-05) with regard to the CERCLA. ESAs are conducted in phases so that risk management decisions can be made regarding environmental issues at a site. This approach minimizes costs and provides a basis for further negotiation of property transactions. Ecosphere is also capable of providing detailed site characterization and screening of remedial options (Phase II) to estimate costs, and to design and implement environmental remediation (Phase III).

QA/QC and Environmental Monitoring

Ecosphere has qualified staff to implement the BLM's QA/QC program. Environmental monitoring during construction projects is conducted to ensure compliance with NEPA and federal land use permits. Required documentation includes daily and weekly reports, attendance of weekly federal meetings, and necessary paperwork for route changes or temporary use areas included in the program. Additional responsibilities include coordination of archaeological and environmental monitors, and contacting federal agencies on project issues that arise during construction.
